§ 13
It is not incumbent upon me on this occasion to describe all the confusion that has arisen from this situation, apart from which it is also contrary to the brevity for which I strive.
It is in my opinion quite impossible to correct everything that has occurred in the past, or to compensate all those who have suffered as a result. The only question is: “How may our financial system henceforth be regulated in such a manner as to cause the least harm to the Crown, the Bank and citizens in general and change the productive occupations the least and be constructed on a natural and firm foundation, so that the country may in future be secure from all kinds of harmful revaluations of the currency?”
To fulfil the promise I made at the beginning, I must therefore first address
the remedies suggested by others before I may put forward my own.
